Changes to my study program

Hello! Today I’m going to talk about the psychology career’s problems. First, I think that the curriculum is not correct, because the subjects are very theoretical and little much practical exercises. For this reason, a lot of students come to professional practices without any practical ability and they cannot to apply the theory. The curriculum must to consider practical subjects or, in default, require of practical work to the subjects that already exist.

Actually, the Psychology Department is carrying out an innovation curricular process. Be supposed to the Psychology Department is making a great effort to incorporate practical subjects. In this process are participating teachers, students, career boss and all the people involucrate in the learning process.

In addition, I think that the curriculum of Psychology career and all the curriculums of the Chilean universities don’t consider the free times. For example in Germany the curriculums only have four subjects, because they think that the free times is just as important that the theoretical subjects. In this country, the curriculums are very hard and for this reason when the people have free time they prefer sleep. Maybe this is one of the reasons that exist because the percentage of sedentary life in Chile is so high. Sport or any other activities are necessary for life and to learn better. Nevertheless, in the innovation curricular process was suggested to reduce the cultural and/or sport obligators subjects from two to only one. I cannot allow!

This is all for now, I see you.

My future job

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about the future, specifically about my future job. Well, I will work Psychology of Sports. This psychology´s area wants to maximize the sportsman and woman's performance in the mental aspect. For this there are many methods: Group dynamics and individual dynamics similar to clinical work, mental warm-up work, concentration work, motivational work, communication work, etc.

I liked this job because of many reasons. The most important reason is: I practice tennis since I was a child, so I'm a very close person to the sport world. Other reasons can be: The psychology is a discipline very interesting for me and I didn’t like other discipline. When I finished school I had two options: Be a professional tennis player or get in university career, I chose the second option.
Actually, I'm already working with a football club. It is exciting, but I want to make my professional practice in Nicolas Massu's tennis academy, the reason is obvious. What I like most about this job is that I don’t have to be locked up in an office, but I am on the court and I must to be attentive to all training details.

I hope to fulfill my dream, wish me luck, I wiil need it.

Bye!

Winter holidays

The winter holidays from 2015 I went with my friends to ski to “Valle Nevado”, in the Andes mountain range. We got a promotion that gave us many benefits:
·         A van that transported us from Santiago to the place and back
·         Equipment for all of us
·         Lunch for everyone
·         Entrance ticket (obviously)

The road is terrible, it has many curves (78 to be exact) and they’re listed with transit signals. That’s because I arrived very dizzy and wanting to vomit, but after some minutes of resting and being calmed I felt better and I could start skiing with no problem.

Skiing was one of the best moments that I have in winter holidays in many years, in spite of I fell many times, because it was the second time in my life that I was skiing (before this time, I was 10 when I skied)

Last year we wanted to repeat the experience, but we couldn’t because a discoordination in everyone’s time, besides we couldn’t find a suitable promotion for the money that we could pay

On this year, we wanted to go to ski again with my friends. We are waiting the university semester to finish, so we can all have availability of time to go and go like a group (in addition to the idea of go together because we are friends, is better going in a big group, with more people than other years, because we can access to better promotions). Besides, this year we have many other interested persons than other years.

Wish me luck!

Most embarrassing thing

When I was 21 years old I went to have lunch with my friends to Jhonny Rockets from Mall Plaza Egaña. We ate hamburgers and chips, drink soda, etc. It was a very good day, even the people who work there sang me “Happy Birthday”.

Once we finished the lunch, we went out from the Mall to the subway. It was a very rainy day, like almost all my birthdays (my birthday is on 2nd June), and the stairs and my shoes were so wet, that I slipped and fell down the stairs. The first impression of the people was “oh God, this is so terrible and dangerous”, but, in the moment I fell and crawled two steps down, so that was a very funny fall and, therefore, embarrassing.

The people helped me, but then I could see his laughing gestures on their faces. My friends laughed too, and they annoyed me every time we had to go up or downstairs that day.

It was a very great birthday, but the moment of the fall gave me so much shame, and the gestures from the people who was around me made me wanted to cover my face and run away from there.

English Language Challenges

Really, I have learned to much during this year, but specifically not only because of the English classes at the university. The university helped me in the grammatical aspect, but in addition I have learned this language thanks to my girlfriend who can speak three languages and she makes me watch movies and series in English without subtitles. Also, lately I like to hear music in English, so that helps me a lot.

About the English classes, this year it liked to me because the teacher is very nice and I agree with her about learning English should not be only grammatical. In this case, I think that the use of blogs is a clever way to teach and learning, because is a practical application of the language.

I need to improve the listening aspect because I think I am not good enough. Besides, I also need to improve my pronunciation because, usually, when I have to talk in English I can’t say the words correctly and that embarrasses me. For this, I will keep watching movies and series without subs and I will try to speak English with the people who can speak better than me. For example, my girlfriend, her brother and my roommate who lived in the USA; without them I will not speak English outside the classes.

After all, and knowing that I have a lot to learn and improve, I can communicate with native English speakers, for example, the last week I helped to a foreigner to buy a hot-dog in the subway. At first it was hard to understand him, but when I asked him to speak slowly I could understand and help him.

Hello to all! Today I going to talk about a photo that I took some weeks ago, specifically at 2015. It's a picture of a sign with the face of Rodrigo Avilés, showing support to him and to his family. I took it during a student’s movilization in the night. I loved that movilization because the most people marched with something illuminated (candle, torch, etc). That day, the news said that around 80.000 people assisted to the student’s movilization, while the Confederation of Chile Students (CONFECH about the spanish initials) said that 100.000 marched from Plaza Italia to República Metro Station.

I like this photo because it means a lot of things. When Rodrigo marched on Valparaíso streets during the President of Republic’s public account on May 21th, he was injured by policial forces, and there was a lot of controversy about it. I like this picture because it shows movement, it shows that we, the students, are not comfortable with the situations that are happening in our country, and we can organize ourselves to try to make a change. It also shows a reality of repression that should not happen in this country that calls itselfs “under the democracy”. I hope you all like this picture as much as I like it, and thank you for reading.

Thanks for reading this post, The Chilean education is not sold, it defends!
